(“Forget-me-not” – symbol of Armenian genocide centenary)
On 24 April 1915, Ottoman Turk empire police, military forces
and allied institutions embark on the genocide of
the people of Armenia with the subsequent murder of 1.5 million Armenians. On
this day of the centenary of the first genocide in Europe in the 20th century,
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan solemnly informs guests at an official
commemorating ceremony in capital Yerevan: “I am grateful to all those who are
here to once again confirm your commitment to human values, to say that nothing
is forgotten, that after 100 years we remember.”
